Former THY MAJESTIE Singer Producing Italy's VIOLET SUN

November 5, 2005

Former THY MAJESTIE and current PLATENS singer Dario Grillo is currently producing a new album from the Italian gothic-power metal band VIOLET SUN, led by the soprano Alessandra Amata. The group's musicial style is being described as a mixture of "EVANESCENCE, NIGHTWISH, KOVENANT and LACUNA COIL."

As previously reported, PLATENS (Haramaic word for "cosmic equilibrium") will release their debut album, "Between Two Horizons", on December 6 via Frontiers Records.

Dario recorded two albums ("The Lasting Power" and "Hastings 1066") and one EP ("Echoes of War") with the Italian power metal band THY MAJESTIE before leaving the group in October 2003 in order to dedicate all his energies to PLATENS, his new musical project, where he plays all the instruments.

Frontiers Records president and A&R director, Serafino Perugino, heard the first demos and was enthusiastic abut what he heard. "Between Two Horizons" is said to feature a melodic hard rock approach similar in sound to such bands as FAIR WARNING, GIANT, SURVIVOR, TERRA NOVA and GRAND ILLUSION.

The CD, which is said to contain "big bombastic hooklines, driving rhythms and magnificent keyboards tied together with incredible singing," was mastered by Mika Jussila at world-renowned Finnvox studios (STRATOVARIUS, NIGHTWISH).
